Avery UMC has been blessed with a beautiful building and location for 60 years. Regular and planned financial gifts have kept the building in good shape, enabling good ministry to continue. But, after continued small leaks above the fellowship hall, we were informed this spring that our roof needs to be replaced.
So, we need your help. The replacement of the roof will cost about $35,000. We hope to raise all funds within 3 years, primarily through gifts made by members of Avery UMC. Prayerfully consider making a commitment or one time gift to help us put a new roof of protection over this growing congregation! Commitment cards are available in the back of the sanctuary, and gifts may be given at any time by writing a check to Avery UMC with “Roof Fund” in the memo line. Envelopes are available in the pews in the sanctuary.
3 year commitments as of June 10, 2018: $27,830 ($7,370 received)
Avery In Action
When you give to Avery in Action (AIA), your money is given by Avery UMC to local and global missions. The missions supported by your gifts in Jan. – March 2018 are:
- Adoption Connection of PA. AIA funds will be used towards a mission of the United Methodist Women to assemble backpacks to give to children going into foster homes.
- Washington County Habitat for Humanity, which builds safe, affordable homes for families in need. Habitat families work on their own home and buy the home at cost of construction (around $90,000).
