Rev. Erik Hoeke feels right at home serving Avery UMC, where he has been since 2014. Pastor Erik grew up in the south hills of Pittsburgh, graduating from Upper St. Clair High School. He has a B.A. in Print Journalism from Ohio Northern University, and a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology (Emory University) in Atlanta, GA.
Pastor Erik has been serving as a pastor in Western Pennsylvania since 2008. He also serves on the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry as the Provisional Residency Coordinator, and is chair of the Conference partnership with Zimbabwe. He also is Vice President of the Washington County Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors.
Pastor Erik is married to Lisa, a structural engineer who is also from the Pittsburgh area. When not at the church, you’ll likely find Pastor Erik running, watching baseball, reading, or drinking coffee.
