God creates each person with abilities, gifts, and passions to be used in the life of the church. Where is God calling you to serve? Talk with Pastor Erik about how God may want to use you in the life of Avery UMC.
Prayer & Care Cards
You are invited on a journey that begins with prayer for our loved ones, church family, and the world. We will meet monthly to make and take home three care cards – supplies will be provided. The Spirit will lead and guide us along the way each 3rd Monday of the month at 1 pm & 6:30 pm.
Next meeting: Mon. March 18 at 1 pm & 6:30 pm
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and the Lord will care for you.” – Psalm 55:22
Despite the continued wintry weather, Avery UMC is planning for grass cutting season. Additional volunteers are needed for this necessary task. Please see/contact Buddy Batson or Doug Garrone if you can assist.
We’re always looking for people to serve in:
- Rotation Sunday school – most volunteers only need to commit to one Sunday every 4-8 weeks.
- Nursery on Sunday mornings
Youth Ministry: Research shows that in order for faith to “stick” after high school, youth need at least 5 adults in addition to their parents to model Christian faith for them. Are you called to be one of these persons for our youth? Contact Buddy Batson to see how you can help.
Deliver meals to new parents, shut-ins, those recovering from surgery or illness, or anyone who might be finding meal preparation difficult. Meals do not need to be homemade. They can be already hot from the grocery store, takeout, or whatever you choose. Avery Delivers not only delivers food, but also joy, fellowship, and the love of Christ.
