Shrove Tuesday, also known as Fat Tuesday, is a Christian tradition often celebrated by eating pancakes on the day before Ash Wednesday. As the final day before the season of Lent - a time of repenting and fasting/abstaining - we get together to feast on butter, eggs, and fats one last time before "giving them up" for Lent. Of course, we probably won't give these things up, but we will give up patterns of feasting and enjoyment for the more solemn and simple season of Lent. The word "Shrove" roughly translates as "absolve", meaning we recognize that in Lent we seek for God to absolve us of our sins.

Our Lent Worship focus this year is "Lent in Plain Sight" by Jill J. Duffield. During the season we'll be helping you "build" an altar with everyday objects, and have activities and donation drives coordinating with this theme.
Join us every Sunday for worship at 10:30 am in the sanctuary or live-streamed on Facebook.
